WHAM!
Wham!  But was there a "squeak-splat?"

The next day I opened the shed door to find that the brick had fallen.  From the fragments of stick I saw it appeared most likely that the stick had broken under the weight of the brick.  However, the seed on the floor had been scattered around some.  A mouse could have done that.  If you'll notice, there's even a bit of gnawed pretzel in the photos.  The varmint couldn't have moved the bait after the brick had fallen, so there was still a good chance I'd find a furry pancake under the brick.

Dammit!

No luck.  All I found under the brick was another piece of stick and a lot more seed.  Evidently my stick wasn't strong enough to support the brick.  I'd have to try something else.  Luckily I had plenty of "grain & water-based pool filling liquid" left over from the Manly Mouse Trap, so I cracked open a few brews and tried to come up with a unique and original idea.
