CDROM deathI had a couple firearms to choose from, a .38 or a .22.  About a year ago I shot up a hard drive and had it the footage posted on Windrivers.com.  I used a .22 because it made the hardware dance.  A .38 punches through the hardware too smoothly.  Besides, the smaller hole of the .22 would make the foam sealant squirt farther.

Another reason for the .22 was distance. If I was going to puncture a canister of compressed flammable chemicals with a firearm, I wanted to be as far away as possible. My wife's .38 Special simply isn't as accurate at great distances (yea, it's my wife's... she's one of those rare armed hippies... give peace a chance or eat hot lead!). With the scope on my .22 I'm pretty darned accurate.
